What modifications can I make to my car to compete in the ZR2, ZR3, or ZP2 class?
Zenith Racing Series fully believes in supporting the ingenuity and creativity of competitors. We have specific rules that prohibit aerodynamic elements that are modular on track (i.e DRS). We also strictly limit adjustable power tunes to maintain the fairness of our power to weight ruleset. All other modifications, so long as they meet our safety requirements, are allowed without a modifier or penalty. This includes the ability to add fixed aerodynamic elements, non-oem dampers, airjacks, center lock wheels, non-oem brakes, etc.
Will Zenith Racing Series have Balance of Performance (BoP)?
No. Zenith Racing Series will not have a BoP model. Rather, we believe that strict enforcement of driver and technical standards, combined with our straightforward ruleset, will provide an equal opportunity for all competitors to succeed.
Is there any required equipment or technology specific to Zenith Racing Series?
We maintain similar safety and pitlane standards as what you would experience in most series. Teams are required to maintain PPE for all pitlane crew as stated in the Team Regulations. Additionally, vehicles will be required to have the following items: Functional brake lights, headlights, rain light, forward facing recording camera, and rearview camera. Cars will also be required to have Alkamel Datalinks, TX-L displays, and a TR2 transponder.
Are there any tire and fuel restrictions?
We will allow competitors to run any tire of their choice as well as any visible fuel of their choice (no methanol or similar). We have incorporated tire change rules that penalize tire changes to equalize the field. Additionally, we have partnered with USAC to provide on-site fuel delivery for competitors needing fuel outside of normal pump gas. We are excited to see how competitors create unique and diverse strategies within their desired budgets, and believe our ruleset will allow for an equal playing field for all competitors.
What qualifications do I need as a driver to compete in the series?
We have a minimum age requirement of 14 years old, pending review. All drivers must submit their existing racing resume with relevant experience. Drivers may also be interviewed by series representatives to gauge competency and alignment of our series goals. Additionally, the series will require all drivers to complete a rules exam prior to obtaining their license. We believe that all drivers, with the right attitude, training, goals, and support can be strong competitors and valuable community members. However, we do have provisions for new drivers that restrict their ability to start races and new drivers will also be placed on immediate probation for review by Zenith Racing stewards if they violate material community guidelines.
What resources will you use to track and enforce driver/team standards?
We are very excited to partner with Alkamel Systems for our series timing and scoring. Alkamel Systems will have multiple on site staff members supporting and maintaining the accuracy of our data. This includes features such as Driver-ID, live vehicle GPS tracking with accelerometers, pit lane timing loops, sector times, and driver stint analysis. These enhanced features allow us to monitor, track, and enforce our strict driver and vehicle standards. These systems have been proven effective and accurate in many top series, and we are excited to lean on this crucial data to maintain the fairness of effectiveness of our series.
What type of penalties should be expected for competing outside of the community guidelines (i.e contact, cheating, etc.)?
We understand that competing on track with 50+ other competitors for over 20 hours on any given week will result in incidents. We also fully understand that fierce competition pushes the boundaries of any ruleset or guideline. To mitigate the escalation of these issues, we set very clear and strict penalties for non-compliance of our rules and guidelines. While warnings may be given, nearly our entire penalty structure begins with a one lap penalty and escalates to probation or disqualification for repeat offenders. Additionally, we fully believe that the only way to enjoy the competition, is by trusting the competition. Any competitor or driver that deliberately operates outside of our rules (through means of cheating or retaliation), will be ejected and suspended. We want to build a community of racers that appreciate the battle as much as the result.
How does Zenith neutralize the race for on track incidents?
Zenith will be utilizing the Code-35 system at all events to neutralize the field when there are on track incidents. We believe this creates the most fair, consistent, and safe standards for all parties involved. If the race requires a red flag, we will pick up the overall leader with a safety car. At this point, we will not be accommodating class splits or wave arounds under safety car resumptions.
Will spectators be allowed to attend events?
While we fully support incorporating spectators at our future events, we are investing primarily in the competitor experience for 2026. We want to focus our resources on creating seamless and fun events for the competitor. As we look towards later events in 2026 and into our 2027 calendar, we are open to making our events public.
What experience is Zenith Racing bringing to the events to ensure we have a unique and professional experience?
Our partnership with USAC Racing extends well beyond its amazing licensing and registration capabilities. USAC Racing will be on site with over 20 staff members to ensure our events run smoothly and efficiently with high levels of dedication, clear communication, and experience. This includes everything from pre-event supplemental communication, load in and paddock flow, on-site registration, drivers meetings, pit lane officials, technical directors, race control and stewards, and hospitality. We fully believe that USAC Racing will not only provide the professionalism that all teams deserve but will also add to the fun and welcoming community that we are building.
How can my family and friends watch from home?
Fans watching at home should have full clarity to the hard work and passion that is bringing you to the race track. We will have two announcers dedicated to the series that will focus on supporting the drivers and teams putting on a great show. Through our elevated timing and scoring data, the broadcast will include features about drivers as they’re in the car, will stay up to date on strategy and pitstops, and will also have access to in car live streams. We will have several cameras located around the track to capture all of the intense battles as well. All of which will be buttoned up and broadcast in a professional package through FloSports and YouTube. We want to be able to tell the story that your drivers and team work so hard for.
Will there be onsite hospitality and vendor support?
We are actively working on our hospitality and vendor partnerships. We plan to include items such as a food and beverage station with local food truck, a hospitality trailer with light snacks and beverages, and equipment vendors such as tire mounting/balancing service and crew/vehicle equipment. We want your off track experience to be an enjoyable experience that complements your on-track experience.
