Why Zenith Exists
We built Zenith on a simple belief: some parts of Endurance Racing are worth investing in — fairness, consistency, and competition. Our rulebook and standards are written plainly, and we apply them the routinely, every weekend, with consistent staff at each event so the intent becomes reality.
We back those promises with people who’ve done this at the highest level. Zenith Racing Series operates in partnership with USAC (United States Auto Club) to bring the infrastructure, experience, and professionalism that endurance racing deserves with seasoned Stewards and Race Control officials, a Clerk of the Course who keeps the plan coherent, Pit Lane marshals who prevent problems before they start, Technical Inspectors who value both safety and parity, and licensing support that removes ambiguity from expectations. The result is not just a rulebook; it’s a working system you can trust.
Trust also needs data. Al Kamel anchors our timing: live position via GPS, class gaps, Drive ID, stint counters, pit-window clarity — the granular truth teams rely on. We extend that precision to the outside world with elevated live stream broadcast: multi-camera coverage, commentary that understands endurance, and real-time overlays driven by Al Kamel. Fans see what teams see: Class battles, pit cycles, strategy swings — so the competition is not just visible, but understandable.
Culture makes all of this hold. We race hard and we draw a bright line. We are strictly a No-Contact series: Clean racing is fundamental to a fair and fun event. If there is contact, penalties will be swiftly and strictly applied. The same clarity applies to integrity: Cheating, fuel tricks, declared-power games will put you outside the event. We value ingenuity, not deception. These are not slogans; they are the conditions that let everyone race harder with fewer doubts.
We believe when incidents happen that neutralizing the field with a clear, predictable CODE 35–style procedure calms without disrupting the race. It is a promise that safety will not turn into chaos and that strategy can be planned, not guessed.
Our technical philosophy mirrors that clarity. We class cars with simple, transparent targets:
ZP2 — Prototype class with a maximum
Power-to-Weight ratio of 9.0/1
ZR2 — GT-style class with a maximum
Power-to-Weight ratio of 9.0/1
ZR3 — GT-style class with a maximum
Power-to-Weight ratio of 10.5/1
Performance is anchored to the ratio, then shaped by two linked guardrails that keep it honest and interesting:
Fuel Capacity Scales with power (more power, more fuel; less power, less fuel) and Declared Power (tied to weight via a published formula and verified in Tech).
Build what you believe in — then prove it. Within that framework, we welcome engineering: Aero, engines, setup. Gains don’t disappear into gray-area penalties; they show up as choices your crew can plan around and your rivals can race against.
The Zenith Calendar Philosophy
Great racing is also about where, and when, we race. We prioritize marquee Circuits in their best weather windows so the competition is intense and the experience is enjoyable for everyone. That means places like COTA, Sonoma, Barber, VIR, Watkins Glen, and Road America—scheduled for pleasant climates and optimal track conditions. Cooler mornings help cars and drivers, afternoons avoid the worst heat, and evenings deliver the kind of racing and scenery you want your team to remember. A thoughtful calendar respects budgets and logistics, but it also respects the human side.
