Zenith is bringing more competition, more weekends, and more speed into 2027 with the ZRS Sprint Cup, a nine-event calendar, and two new classes.

NINE-WEEKEND 2027 EVENT CALENDAR
The confirmed calendar will begin in February at Homestead-Miami Speedway and will conclude in November at Daytona International Speedway.
The 2027 ZRS Calendar also includes: Sonoma Raceway, Sebring International Raceway, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, VIRginia International Raceway, Watkins Glen International, and Elkhart Lake’s Road America. Each weekend will offer an optional Thursday testing, providing up to seven additional hours of track time for participating teams.

SPRINT CUP AT EVERY ZRS WEEKEND
Zenith Sprint Cup will be offered at every race weekend in 2027. Sprint Cup competitors can expect more than two hours of practice and qualifying, followed by three 30-to-40-minute races, depending on the weekend’s Endurance format. That’s more than four hours of high-intensity track time offered to Sprint Cup across the weekend.
This format combines substantial track time with full ZRS event infrastructure – from professional racing operations and officials to hospitality – and access to some of the country’s leading road racing venues. It gives sprint-focused teams an accessible national program and also allows endurance-focused competitors another race format to diversify their weekends.
Overall weekend scheduling will also allow the same car to compete in both Sprint Cup and the Endurance event. Teams may share the car among several drivers, add sprint races to an endurance program, or build the weekend entirely around Sprint Cup competition.

Sprint Cup will award both a Driver Championship and a Entrant Championship. The Driver Championship will recognize each competitor’s results throughout the season. The Entrant Championship is designed for teams using multiple drivers in the same sprint car. Points earned by each driver in that vehicle will be combined toward one team championship total.
MORE SPEED: ZRS WELCOMES ZP1 & ZR1
NEW CLASSES: ZP1 AND ZR1
Zenith will officially introduce ZP1 and ZR1 in 2027, opening new competition opportunities for high-performance prototype and GT machinery.
ZP1 will operate at approximately 6:1 Power-to-Weight (pounds to horsepower). Eligible cars will include LMP3 machinery, the Sebeco Velox, certain Revolution prototypes, and certain Radical machinery, among other comparable prototype cars.
ZR1 will operate at approximately 7.5:1 Power-to-Weight (pounds to horsepower). The class is intended for high-performance GT cars such as Porsche 911 GT3 Cup models, unrestricted customer GT platforms, and other comparable GT cars.

Both classes will compete under Zenith’s Power-to-Weight-based technical framework. Clear performance targets will allow different manufacturers and platforms to race together without tying the categories to a single model, generation, or traditional homologation structure.
ZP1 and ZR1 competitors can enter Sprint Cup, Endurance, or both during the same weekend – giving cars at this performance level access to substantial track time and multiple race formats under one regulations package.
