ZENITH racing series announces expanded 2027 championship format, new sprint cup, & season preview
Nine-event calendar, new championship paths, and NEW Sprint Cup give competitors more avenues to race with Zenith in 2027

Zenith Racing Series has announced the framework for its 2027 Season, featuring a nine-event calendar, an expanded Endurance Championship structure, and the launch of the NEW Zenith Sprint Cup.
The 2027 season will run from February through October with events planned at Homestead Miami Speedway, Sonoma Raceway, Sebring International Raceway, VIR, Road America, Watkins Glen International, Daytona International Speedway, and two additional to-be-announced, iconic tracks. Event dates to be released soon. Select 2027 events may be open to spectators, in turn contributing to the paddock atmosphere and overall event energy, and giving teams a meaningful environment to welcome sponsors, guests, family, and fans.
Zenith is built for competitors who want a great place to race; whether bringing an S2000 or BRZ, GT3 Cup Car, NP01, LMP3, or anything in between. The series uses open vehicle regulations with a power-to-weight classing system, strong and consistent enforcement of regulations, professional officiating through USAC, top-tier technology for compliance and racing operations, competitor-focused hospitality, and a premium broadcast package.
Zenith is expanding that platform in 2027 with more ways to compete and enjoy the growing community with two race formats:
The Zenith Crown Championship will feature races of 11 hours or longer, built for teams that enjoy the extended challenge of racing into the evening and completing one major endurance race without needing to fully re-prep for a second race the next day.
The Zenith Dual Championship will feature traditional double-race endurance weekends, including formats such as 5+6, 7+7, 7+8, etc. These events give competitors two chances to succeed in one weekend, with the ability to reset, adjust, and come back strong for the next race.
Separate championships give competitors the chance to race for championship rights without committing to the full nine-event schedule. Teams looking for the full-season target can chase the Zenith Overall Championship, which will combine results from both endurance formats.
The 2027 Zenith endurance season is expected to include four standalone Crown events, four standalone Dual events, and a finale that will combine the Dual event structure with a Crown Championship race.
In addition, in response to competitor feedback wanting sprint racing within the same environment they already enjoy endurance, the Zenith Sprint Cup is born. The Sprint Cup will use the same classing and rule structure as Zenith endurance racing, but races will be much shorter in duration – estimated 40-45 minutes per race depending on event.
Sprint Cup events are expected to receive nearly six hours of total track time including 2-3 races per event; an incredibly rare amount of track time for the sprint racing market. These races will not be a side show - they will be integrated into the weekend format and headline Zenith’s Sunday programming. Sprint Cup competitors will have access to the same event infrastructure as the endurance competitors, including professional officiating through USAC, top-tier technology for compliance and racing operations, competitor-focused hospitality, and a premium broadcast package.
Additional details, including final dates, remaining venues, event schedules, entry information, championship regulations, and spectator event information, will be released within the coming months. Competitors and teams interested in 2027 updates are encouraged to sign up for the Zenith Racing Series newsletter or contact the Series Manager, Emma Adams (emma@zenithracingseries.com) for advance-planning questions or details.
